Six Reasons Households Choose Thornmark

Content Rooted in Public Records

Every pattern category we cover comes from Bank Negara advisories, PDRM public alerts, and published BNMLINK consumer data — not generalised claims.

Built for Family Conversations

Programmes are structured around the conversations households actually need to have — across generations, and across different comfort levels with the topic.

Materials That Stay in the Home

Printed reference cards, workbooks, and readers accompany every programme. The learning doesn't leave when the session ends.

Calm, Not Alarmist

Session design avoids fear-based framing. The aim is steady, transferable familiarity — not a heightened state that fades quickly.

Directed to Official Channels

When something feels wrong, participants know exactly who to contact — BNMLINK, PDRM, and other public bodies with the authority to act.

Small Groups, Active Participation

Sessions are capped at 15–20 participants. Questions are expected and welcome — this is not a lecture format.

What Each Benefit Means in Practice

Research-Led Expertise

Thornmark's content team reviews publicly available material from Malaysia's consumer financial regulators and law enforcement on a regular cycle. Pattern categories are updated before each cohort intake to reflect the most recent publicly reported concerns.

This means participants engage with content that reflects the current landscape — not a static syllabus from several years ago.

  • Content reviewed against Bank Negara and PDRM sources
  • Updated before each programme intake
  • Facilitators briefed on any changes to publicly reported patterns
  • No speculative or anecdotal content included

Structured Programme Design

Each programme has a deliberate arc — not just a collection of topics. The one-day workshop provides a clear starting framework. The four-session programme builds conversation habits. The ten-week cohort develops long-term familiarity through repetition and peer discussion.

Participants can enter at any level and progress in a way that suits their household's starting point.

  • Three complementary programme levels
  • Each session has a distinct learning objective
  • Cohort format for sustained habit formation
  • Facilitator guide reviewed after each intake

Participant-First Support

Our team responds to enquiries within one business day and is available to answer questions about which programme suits a particular household or group. For corporate or community group bookings, we walk organisers through the logistics clearly and without pressure.

There is no hard sell. If a programme isn't the right fit, we say so.

  • One-business-day response to enquiries
  • No-pressure programme discussion
  • Group booking support for HR and community organisations
  • Follow-up available after programme completion

Transparent, All-Inclusive Pricing

Programme fees are stated clearly. All printed materials — reference cards, workbooks, conversation decks, printed readers, and the closing reference book — are included at no extra charge. There are no add-ons, upsells, or subscription requirements.

Pricing is fixed per participant: RM 470 for the workshop, RM 1,150 for the four-session programme, and RM 2,490 for the ten-week cohort.

  • All printed materials included
  • No hidden extras
  • Clear per-participant pricing from the outset
  • Group rates available — enquire for details

Measurable Outcomes

At the end of each programme, participants complete a structured feedback form. We track whether they feel more confident asking questions when approached by unfamiliar financial contacts, and whether they have a clearer picture of which official channels to use. The data informs the next intake.

We do not claim to prevent all harm — that is not an appropriate claim for an educational programme. We do aim to raise the quality of the conversation households have before acting.

  • Post-programme structured feedback collected
  • Confidence in questioning as a tracked indicator
  • Results used to improve subsequent intakes
  • Honest about the scope of educational outcomes

— what makes us different

Distinctive Features of the Thornmark Approach

01

The "Reference Point" Framework

Our programmes are designed for adults who often serve as the calm, steady voice in a family — particularly those aged 40+ who are fielding questions from older parents and adult children simultaneously. This framing shapes every session.

02

Printed Closing Reference Book

The Family Awareness Cohort ends with a printed reference book — a calm, organised summary of key patterns and all relevant official channels. It is designed to sit on a shelf and be reached for when needed, not to be thrown away after the programme.

03

Conversation Deck Format

The Household Safety Conversations programme includes a printed conversation deck — a set of structured prompts designed to help families talk about these topics at home, without needing a facilitator to be present.

04

Peer Discussion Forum in the Cohort

The ten-week Family Awareness Cohort includes a peer discussion component — a structured space where participants can share observations, compare notes, and reinforce each other's awareness between sessions.
